MICRO / MULTI-SPLINE

MICRO SPLINE & MULTI-SPLINE TRIMS

The Microspline and multi-spline trim is designed for high pressure-drop liquid services on applications with low flow rate requirements. These trims are supplied in valve sizes up to 2” (50mm) diameter. The flow sleeve and plug are constructed as an insertable cartridge, with up to five stages of pressure drop to ensure that cavitation does not occur throughout the stated flow range.

The multi-spline trim option can achieve rangeabilities in excess of 100 to 1, due to the very precise fit of the plug within the seat. The standard material is full stellite Grade 6. However there are also tungsten carbide and advanced ceramic options for pressure drops greater than 100 bar (1450 psi).

'HF' HIGH FRICTION

'HF' HIGH FRICTION

The 'HF' High Friction trim is suited to most process-control applications and helps reduce cavitation and noise in a low pressure recovery application. For more severe applications it can include stellite or tungsten carbide inserts.

MULTI STAGE HIGH FRICTION

HFL/ MULTI STAGE HIGH FRICTION LIQUID/GAS

This trim helps reduce the likelihood of cavitation in high friction liquid or reduce noise in large pressure drop gas applications. Two or more concentric sleeves have many grooves incorporating radial holes. This creates a tortuous radial flow which dissipates energy within the cage by splitting and impinging the flows, meaning that the final stage of let down has a smaller pressure drop.

The main features are:

  1. Divides the main flow into many small streams, increasing turbulence and noise peak frequency and maximizing the pipe wall transmission loss.
  2. High energy levels, pressure and velocity are dissipated within the trim – avoiding erosion damage.
  3. Design of final stage ensures low-velocity non-interacting jets, avoiding unnecessary noise generation in the valve outlet.
  4. Various sizes can be used on different control valve body sizes, to suit a wide range of process control parameters.

VECTOR™

VECTOR™ SEVERE SERVICE LABYRINTH TRIM

VeCTor™ Severe service labyrinth trim to extend the capabilities of trim design into the most severe operating conditions found worldwide. It is specifically designed to control the potentially destructive effects of high velocities. The VeCTor™ velocity control design enables you to specify a high-performance trim for any high temperature or high pressure-drop service, whether cavitating, flashing, gas or steam. The design has been evolved over many years, building on our experiences in meeting the needs of severe service environments where durability, reliability, repeatability and accurate process control are required.

CONTOURED TRIM

CONTOURED

The contoured tim option is used on most applications and is suited to low-pressure drops. It includes a plug with a contoured head, the profile of which permits a high-pressure recovery.

SOFT-FACED

SOFT-FACED CONTOURED TRIM

This version offers bubble-tight shutoff, thanks to a different plug design, which features a clamped-on shroud. This ensures a high degree of closure, by locking the soft-faced ring in position.

OTHER FEATURES OF THE SERIES 1200 AND 7200 RANGE ARE:

  1. Heavy top-guided globe valve, with no bottom guide to obstruct seat bore and potentially trap debris.
  2. All trim components are removable from the top.
  3. Large range of trim CVs per valve size.
  4. Cryogenic applications

THREE-WAY MIXING AND DIVERTING GLOBE VALVES - SERIES 30, 31 & 32

Our three-way mixing and diverting valves allow for accurate controlled splitting or mixing of flows, even at high flow capacity. They are based on the body design of our Series 10 range and are primarily used for blending of flows. When used in reverse, they can also be used to split flows. They come in sizes from 1.5” to 12” (40mm to 300mm) and an ASME rating of 150-600.

SERIES 30A

MIXING (BLENDING)

When used for mixing, the Series 30 valves have two separate inlets and one common outlet. Flows are proportionally blended into one stream by control of the valve plug position. The standard plug – a linear ‘V’ port – provides a high flow capacity and high rangeability.

SERIES 30B

SPLITTING (DIVERTING)

When flowed in reverse the Series 30 valves can be used for splitting flows. Here, the valve has one common inlet and the flow is split proportionally between two outlets. The total outlet capacity is constant, irrespective of the plug position.

SERIES 31

SPLITTING (DIVERTING)

Based on the Series 20 design, the Series 31 has an additional body rib inserted to separate flows. The under/over flow regime means the plug is inherently balanced, so that the valve requires a smaller actuator than an equivalent Series 30.

SERIES 32

SPLITTING (DIVERTING)

Based on the Series 10 body casting, the Series 32 has a bottom flange fitted to the base of the body as an inlet connection. The trim is cage guided with a balanced plug. Depending on the plug position, flow is proportionally directed to the left or right-hand outlet.
